This would statistically appear to be true, based on Harvard’s 5.6% acceptance rate.
But it’s not, because Harvard is meritocratic: Those with higher grades and SAT scores are the ones who get in.
Getting a job in the fitness center is not a meritocracy. It is based on who you know, and more importantly, who trusts you.
Once you see that our economy is based less on merit and more on trust you can think just a little bit differently than your peers to get what you want.
Your peers are busy filling out job applications. Perhaps you should do something different.
