Which exercise is the best?

On Monday I was training a group of swimmers on their first day of off-season conditioning. I gave them the option to perform either a front squat or a back squat. One swimmer asked, “Which one is better?” I told her I thought the front squat had a better transfer to athletic performance, but that a lot of athletes don’t like it because it’s uncomfortable.

“So I should do the front squat,” she replied.
