In primitive cultures a hickey might have been a status symbol. Perhaps it was a territorial marker. Perhaps it was completely normal for people to walk around with bruises on their necks.
But today a hickey is the sign of an amateur. It indicates that you can’t separate your personal life from your professional life.
After you leave the bedroom you’re becoming a professional. Act accordingly.
