For the NARPs: how to stick to an exercise routine

NARPs (Non-Athletic Regular People) in this case refers to athletes who have graduated and athletes out-of-season.

When a NARP asks me for an exercise routine I first recommend two things:

1) Exercise every day, even if it’s just walking.
2) Do it at the same time every day.

The particulars of the exercise routine are less important than creating the routine in the first place.

Inevitably, there will be days when you don’t feel like exercising. Stick to the routine anyways: put on your gym clothes, walk into the gym, then turn around and walk out.

The routine is more important than what you do, even if it’s nothing.
