You just haven’t tried enough

There’s no particular reason why Bill Gates should be as rich and famous as he is.

When Gates launched Disk Operating System (DOS) for IBM, computer professionals thought Apple’s Macintosh operating system was far superior. But since IBM happened to have more users than Apple it encouraged more developers to write for DOS. More people used DOS because more people were already using DOS, and it exploded in popularity.

Gates got lucky. He was skilled, brilliant, well-connected, but Gates also got very, very lucky.

It’s possible you’re not talented enough, but more likely you just haven’t tried for long enough.
